Family Pics

We had some family pics taken a few weeks ago. I thought they turned out well, given the fact that I am the most UN photogenic person EVER. But Emily(the photographer) did awesome considering her clients. At least Carter is adorable in spite of his parents!

Allergies 1: Carter 1

So Carter had another allergic reaction this morning. But luckily I knew what to look for and so we were able to pump him full of drugs in time and nothing go out of hand like last time. So hence the title of this post....the score is tied up.

This allergic reaction is most likely to Chocolate Malt-O-Meal. Who is allergic to that? Seriously! I read the label 9 million times to make sure it didn't have milk or eggs and it didn't. It only has a few ingredients including wheat(which he's tested fine for) barley, and cocoa. So that leads me to believe he could be allergic to chocolate or barley. For his sake, I hope it's barley.

Here is Carter right before I rushed him to the Dr.'s office. Puffy eyes, redness and full lips. This is how he woke up from his nap. I'm so glad he woke up when he did. We rushed to the dr.'s office within about 6 minutes and got an Epi shot. He was starting to have hives and his lungs were constricting by this point. But within 1 minute, the Epi kicked in. Thank heavens. We have to watch him closely the next two days and he's on a heavy steroid for now. I had my own Epi Pen but since I was so close to the hospital I let the Dr. use his Epi and saved mine for a bigger emergency. Carter was happy the whole time this was going on. Didn't cry once-not even when he got the shot-just a little fussing for about 30 seconds.

Here he is about an hour after the Epi and now with benadryl and steroids in his little body. Still puffy in the eyes but less red. Now we're back to the allergist in 2 weeks to test for MORE food allergies. I did however call Malt-O-Meal to make sure there wasn't any powdered milk in their cereals....and there's not she assured me. Which I knew there wasn't because it's a law that you list every ingredient on the box. But I had to double check. So I have a barely used box of chocolate malt-o-meal that I will sell to the highest bidder. Happy bidding!

9 months

Carter will be 9 months old next week. He has now been outside of my body for as long as he was inside my body! He is doing new things each day.....I love being with him.
New "tricks"
**waves Bye-bye (the best is when Neil leaves for work each morning)
**gives Hi-Fives (Spastically, but we'll take it!)
**Says "Da Da" and "Ba Ba". He loves to chatter
**Squeals whenever he sees the cat
**Has given up the binki since last week (This is good and bad)
**Has a new obsession with baby dolls (Neil thinks he may be gay....(j/k)
**Has had 2 different ear infections (Thank heavens for insta-care on Sunday mornings)

Here is the baby doll he discovered at my mom's house. He would always go straight for the eyes.

Out for a walk-we cannot wait for Spring.
He isn't crawling yet-really not even trying to get up on his knees yet. This is great because I can leave him in the living room while I run to Wal-Mart really quickly(Joking, joking) But he can roll anywhere he wants to go and can turn his body to get places.
He is obsessed with any kind of ball. I think this proves that he has a more manly side than shown with the doll. Does it get any manlier than a basketball and Camouflage? I think not.
This is Carter's latest "face." He'll do this weird smile, crinkle his eyes and make a low moaning sound. It's hilarious and he'll do it when I do it to him. I love all 25.4 pounds of him!
