My Little Helper

Carter is obsessed with getting down the broom and "sweeping" the floor for me. He has even gotten out the dust pan and attempted to use that as well.
He is so proud of himself. Just imagine if he could really sweep the floor for me.......

He has become obsessed with wearing my shoes as well. It's better when I leave my slip ons out because it's so much easier for him to put these on than my books. He walks around proudly saying "mommy shoes."

Carter recently took up sledding. I love this baby sled because anyone who knows Carter knows he is a timid, scares easily, baby. So this sled is perfect for him. Makes him feel secure and even comes with a seat belt.

Daddy and Carter trying out the real sled.

This picture is kind of funny. I happened to catch the "crash" on camera. Neil's foot accidentally hit the sled and flipped Carter's "Safe" sled. Carter was not hurt but he did not appreciate that. He wanted nothing to do with the sleds after that.

He got to the bottom of the hill saying "All Done, All Done."

These are 2 of Carter's favorite books. He loves the Mercer Mayer "Little Critter" books. He asks to read these about 50 times a day. He recognizes all books by their covers and can even say all their names. Example: Mom Book and Mad Book is what he calls these 2 books. There was a period of time that these books slept with him and Monkey. We have read these books SO MANY times that you can stop in the middle or end of the sentence and Carter will fill in the word. We are amazed that he can do this, but come to think of it, we could recite these books in our sleep, backwards!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day Grandma, Papa, Mitchell, Chloe, Lexi and Leah! My heart is yours! But not my glasses, I love them so much.

Love,
Carter

Time Out

Carter is no stranger to time out. And now, neither is his monkey. Not only does Monkey need frequent diaper changes, he now needs time out. He uses the same time out bench as Carter. What will we do if they need it at the same time?!!?

Putting monkey on the bench. He started talking (incoherently) to monkey. I am assuming he was explaining why he was sitting in time out.

Monkey sat there without any tears or any yelling. Quite the opposite of Carter's time outs.

After monkey said sorry, he got a big hug from Carter and off they went to play!
Last night at bed time after stories and teeth brushing I put Carter in his crib. He asked for monkey and we couldn't find him anywhere. Carter was getting a little upset and finally I found Monkey sitting on the time out chair! So glad we found him.

20 months

Carter is almost 20 months now. I can't say he's growing like a weed because for once in his life, he isn't growing(much). He is practically the same size and is only 1 pound heavier than at 1 year old. In his infant days he seemed to gain a pound a day! He's wearing the same pants as he did last winter. How's that for getting your money's worth?! He is still about a head taller than most of his friends but maybe they will eventually catch up to him.

I found this treasure at the DI and it has been the best 2 dollars I have ever spent. After a little bath and clorox this baby is as good as new. This is by far his favorite toy and his Little People animals and tractor from Christmas compliment this nicely. He always makes the animals knock at the doors before they can enter and even welcomes them with a "come in." I love it!

He still loves to swim (especially with daddy) and has learned how to jump off the edge. Actually it's more just falling but he yells "jump."
His favorite thing to do is climb in and out of the water but when he's in he will put his head under and will swim unassisted for about 8 seconds. He moves his arms nicely but can't quite figure how to make his legs move him!

I recently gave Carter his first taste of Popcorn. (I know its a choking hazard but we're careful). He loves it and his mommy loves it as well. Carter is not a cuddler but will cuddle up on the couch with me if I am holding a bowl of popcorn. He's not a fan of TV either(sadly for me) but will watch a show with me if I am holding popcorn. The best part of microwave popcorn.....made with fake butter so Carter can safely eat it!
