Carter is 18 months old. He is such a sweet little boy.......until we enter the portrait studio. He refused to smile or sit still. He kept saying "done" over and over again. I am very sorry I taught him that word. And even sadder the he understands how to use it in context! We did manage to catch a few decent ones though.
He didn't cry during this photo shoot but he was super serious the whole time. I was in the background acting like a fool, just hoping to crack a smile!
He refused to put the ball down, once he saw it, but at least he is smiling right?
This is one of my favorites. The only reason he is smiling here is because he is squirming down from the bench. We didn't pose him this way.
Other happenings......We all caught the nasty stomach flu this month. Carter just wanted to lay in my bed with the pillows propped up and the blankets covering him. It is the only time he has stopped moving since Dec. of LAST year! I was worried about my dry-clean only bedspread though so he didn't get to stay here long.
Walking has deepened Carter's love for the outdoors. He loves walking outside in his new boots although he hasn't figured out that he can still use his hands, even with gloves on.
I'm not sure why I bother putting his books on the bookshelf. Maybe if I kept them on the floor, he would want to put them away instead of ripping them down. Carter has mastered saying "clean up" but has not realized that it is a verb and requires action on his part!
This picture really needs no explanation. Our Santa visit was short but not very sweet. If Carter could have calmed down a bit, I'm sure he would asked for some cheese and ice cream!
PS-I swear this Santa was a woman.............

Happy 18 months Carter! Ivy is the same way with photo studios... I didn't even try to for 18 month photos! But maybe I'll regret that and go get some after Christmas...
LOVE the Carter/Santa pic! CLASSIC! :)
Ok, I thought the same thing about the Santa being a woman just by seeing the picture, even before I read that you thought the same thing!!! (Phyllis from The Office would be proud......)
His 18 month pics are super cute- you can't tell at all that he didn't want to be doing them.
Mitch and Chloe did the same thing with their books on their bookshelf- Mitchell still does and it DRIVES ME CRAZY. EVERYDAY I have to clean up books at least 5 times because I can't stand to have 50 books spread out on the floor for the length of the day. Good thing Carter is so darn cute-
I think the pics turned out cute! I love the ones with the basketball. I haven't even thought of taking Paige to sit on Sants's lap! Very cute! Paige loves to pull the book off the shelf too! Isn't it great that our kids love books?
His pics turned out really cute! You can't even tell he was upset! Love the Santa pic! Every kid needs one of those! Sorry you were all sick! Hopefully you are done for the season!
I was going to say that looked kinda like you behind the beard. Too funny! He's getting so big and so handsome! Thanks again for watching Peyton for us. I'm excited to see you guys tomorrow!
they captured some great photos, even if he was done.
i have to say that photo on santa's lap brings back memories of my little carter about that age. he was screaming. love the pictures!
Okay, I am STILL laughing about the Santa header...your posts are great. I love your dry humor! Anyway, I think he looks great in the pics and I am sorry that you all got the flu...it just went through our house last week...nasty little thing! Hope you had a great Christmas!
