After 17 months, 20 days and lots of worrying from his mother, Carter decided to join the ranks of the walkers club! Last night he just decided to walk. He's been able to do it for quite a while now but hasn't wanted to. The break through came when he wanted to carry the ketchup bottle over to his hot dog but couldn't figure out how to hold it while crawling. I brilliantly suggested walking and POW-he was off! He still isn't the steadiest on his feet but I think he's doing quite well for just taking off last night. The therapist who evaluated him said he wouldn't take a couple of steps at first, he would just take off. It's so weird to hear him playing in his room and then look up and he's walking out around the corner instead of crawling. And just seeing him walk from one place to another! Occasionally he will crawl but I just have to remind him to stand up.
The only problem with his found freedom, is that he has discovered climbing........

YEA CARTER! No one is as impressed with this (and excited for all of you) as we are because we've been there! Hooray! He looks so much older now and grown up. What a big boy! He looks so cute holding his book and walking with it.
And if there's anything I'm more impressed with than his walking it's his talking! Wow- he is a great little talker!! Now he's the whole package- adorable, talking and walking!

Almost 18 months is the magic age for walking for our little boys. I already discovered that he can climb. There will be no rest for you now. Does he grab things off the Christmas tree? Next you'll be needing snow boots for all those walks OUTSIDE!
SO EXCITING!!! Way to go Carter! We were so excited to see him walking around at story time, a total pro like he's been doing it forever. :) Your arms totally deserve a break after carrying your big guy for so long!

Yay!!! Oh how wonderful! Yet so scary at the same time. He's getting so big and I'm sure into EVERYTHING he couldn't reach before. He sure is a cutie! We're excited to see him soon!! (Oh yeah, and you guys too!)
He looks so cute walking around the place. Ketchup and hot dogs...serious motivation for most guys I must say! Congrats to Carter and good luck to you!
