Thursday+Garbage Truck=Best Day Ever! Carter's new thing is to wave to the garbage truck as it passes it our house. And what a great driver who takes the time to slow down and wave back!
He stands mesmerized at the sight of it. If only he were this quiet and still at church.....
Then, in to make some cookies. Safety first as he is careful to wear his oven mitt. And why is it that he can only play with his kitchen if the food is dumped all over the floor?

Family Vacation
We spent a few days up in McCall, Idaho. Beautiful, Little Tourist Town that we explored and loved.
Family Pic at the lookout over Payette Lake.

My Son Needs Therapy
While on vacation a few weeks ago, I took Carter to his first beach(if it can be called that). We discovered that he has an intense HATRED for the sand.
Side Note: This doesn't surprise me really, because he hates being dirty or wet, anywhere. If he spills a little water on his shirt while drinking, he cries for you to change his shirt, immediately. While eating something crumbly, he wants you to wash the crumbs off his hands between each bite. He won't walk through the field in our back yard because the tall weeds tickle his legs. He freaks out if the wood chips at the park get into his shoe. If he falls at the park he hates getting the wood chips on his hands and will lift his arms and legs up to avoid touching them. Loves putting his tractors in the dirt but only if he can kneel on the grass and carefully reach the tractors onto the dirt. Get the picture? Now on to the Beach:
(here I am in a sweatshirt and there are people in Bikinis...I thought it was freezing there. Only 70 degrees and when I left Logan it was a roasty 90 Degrees!)
As soon as we got out of the water and tried to walk back to the grass he felt the sand on his wet feet. He stopped walking and refused to budge. In this pic he is refusing to put both feet down. He stood like this and cried until I carried him. He kept saying "yucky sand!"
We went back the next day and all his cousins got in and took sand baths and played for over an hour in the sand. Carter sat by me on the grass. He desperately wanted to play with the kids, but not at the expense of the sand.

Male Bonding
We had a family vacation over the 4th and Carter's cousin Mitchell was there. They spent 2 weeks straight, together, 24/7. They had so much fun together and rarely ever fought. There was an incident with Mitchell pouring a bottle of bubbles over Carter's head....but that's a different story. After this trip I am convinced that Carter needs a brother. Is there a way to give birth to a 3 year old??!?
Funny story: One day I discovered that "someone" had gone through my purse and pulled out all of my gum and unwrapped it, AND hid it behind the quilt rack. I called both boys over and showed them my discovery and asked who did this....they both turned, pointed at each other and said "Mitchell did it/Carter did it!" (I'm pretty sure it was Carter because he knows where to find my gum and none of the gum was chewed where as Mitchell would have chewed all of it I think!)
We miss you Mitchell and Carter asks for you everyday. Can't wait to see you again and to play real soon. We love you!

Best 20 Bucks EVER!
Watch the 2nd video First.....(way to lazy to reload them in the correct order). And turn up the volume so you can hear him squealing with delight!
Thanks to a clearance find at Costco, we have a very happy little boy..
We've realized that this new sport will require a helmet for future rides!

It's a Birthday Miracle!!!
THE KITCHEN MADE IT!!
Dear Wal-Mart,
I feel the need to apologize for my last post. You really came through for me in the clutch and delivered big. I was doubtful and you proved me wrong. You delivered my long-awaited BLUE kitchen 4 hours before Party time. Granted you never sent me the tracking # or even the confirmation email that said you shipped it, but I am willing to overlook that. I am also willing to overlook the fact that 4 hours is barely enough time to set up something of this magnitude, but there was miracle after miracle on this day. I say bad things about you sometimes, but truth be told, I will always be a loyal customer. How can I not when your prices are so much lower than everyone elses? Target wanted to charge me 40$ to ship this, but that is another post. Walmart, you even took back my recalled crib, THAT I DIDN'T EVEN BUY THERE, and gave me my full money back in CASH. The store I bought it at only wanted to give me 1/3 the price in store credit.
So thank you Walmart for restoring my faith in you.
Sincerely,
A Once Disgruntled, But Now Happy Customer (oh yea, and I got 30 bucks off too!)
Since my sister and I were the only ones home at the time, I decided to save some time and start the building process myself. I got all the way through Step 1 before I was confused....
