Finally your blog is letting me comment. I have tried the past few days. Man your men do look alike. You are right on that one.
And responding to my blog, wow I am thinking I was a bit weird back in college with all those things you posted about me. I don't remember the sore booger one. I do however remember the others. Tell your husband sorry for teaching you annoying sayings. He probably has no desire to meet me after all the stories he hears!!!
I too have a lot of you. The biggest one was us just being hommies together. I remember dressing like them, acting like them, dancing like them. Man we had good times. I can't remember if you or Kristen said this but when you got the sheet telling you the names of your roommates you thought I was going to be this rich snobby girl from back east pulling up to the apartment in a limo. Man were you guys wrong, instead you got just a really cool little white girl that thought she was black! :)
Brielle-
It was me who thought you'd be a rich, snobby girl because of your last name. It sounded very professional. I remember being hommies and sagging our pants so you could see our underwear and then we'd take pictures of each other leaned over the sink. Wow-our children will be so proud of us!!
okay, and Amanda thought I would be driving up in a limo because I'm from Bel Air! Way to judge Amanda. I'm just leaving a message until I can think of my favorite one to post. This is going to get fun!
Yea Bel Air did throw me for a loop as well! But let's be honest, coming from Burley Idaho you'd think anywhere else was rich and posh! I'm scared of what Kristen could post-she lived with me 2 years, not just one!!
Let's see, where to begin...I have so many fun memories, I don't know which ones to share. Some of my favorites were/are: Sandy and the Choir, confronting Sky-dog, Prank calling our ward members (especially Ben and Isaac), sledding down the stairs, saving our pennies and buying food with them, stalking Angie to meet her professor, hiding in Angie's room, rearranging Angie's decorations (no wonder she hated us!), and the list goes on. If I think of some more of the classics, I will add. I should go dig out my pictures and post those!! We had a lot of good times at Lynwood, Go Team RED!!!
Wow, I have 24 years of memories with you. That's a lot. And I have shared some deep, dark secrets and although they were harsh, I don't regret it. haha.
Ok- the thing is, a funny memory, a serious one, a mean one, what? One that came to mind and you may deny it, is when we were staying at hotels and we'd go swimming, if you'd start to panic or lose your breath underwater, you'd pull me under to leverage yourself and I'd start to panic. You didn't realize I was near death many times. Luckily I survived to share this memory. you did it all the time, it was weird. Of course there are the hilarious ones at USU being roomies when you'd wake up randomly and sleep talk, or sleep yell at me, wondering who was sleeping in my bunk with me, to turn off the computer and, p.s. "I'm NOT taking you to school tomorrow." Or when we first got to Logan and we went up to campus to try and find our buildings the day before the first day of school and I was trying to be efficient and organized and pulled out a map of campus. You got mad and quietly (so no one would hear) but harshly, "Carrie, put that away! We look like tourists!!"
A hilarious one is when we set our garbage can on fire in our bedroom and we somehow snuck the burning can outside and across to the field without mom or dad (or anyone) seeing us and put the fire out. We LOVED playing with matches and I'm surprised, and we're both down right lucky, that we didn't start our room on fire.
Another one (sorry, I have lots) is when we'd play alligator in our room on our beds and on the furniture. Whoever was the alligator was on the floor and the other person had to jump across to other furniture without touching the floor and without getting touched by the alligator.
You used to never want me to borrow your clothes because "You're gonna stretch them out." But yet, you'd always borrow mine, even things that I had not even taken the tags off yet, without thinking twice.
You would always want to play games with me- board games, basketball (PIG, HORSE, etc) and then if you were losing, or if you'd get bored (I think losing made you bored), you'd say, "I'm done, I don't wan to play anymore." I don't think we've ever finished any sort of game when it was just the 2 of us playing.......
Remember all the fun times in our club with katie, Kristi and Kim? "Everyday we'll have club, rain or shine or behind a shrub!" When we dumped water on Tiffany, called Kim "Kim Bum-ree" and when Cindy came down and yelled at us in the tent for not playing with the twins?
Remember when we were camping and filling up water balloons in the bathroom and some lady came in and yelled at us for making a mess?
Or that time at Grandma Wright's old house and we were playing in her ditch out front and we were pretending like one of us was drowning and some lady pulled over and yelled at us that that wasn't funny to pretend like that. Or when we used to walk around the grocery stores and malls with one hand down our shirts to make it look like we were missing an arm. (I can't believe I did that......) Or when we'd prank phone call people just for fun. Sometimes all we'd do is ask for "Jim" or "Tom" and when they said we had the wrong number we'd just hang up and feel so cool that we had the courage to even do that! One time, Katie asked for "Tracy" (her favorite name!) and they said, "Yes, just a minute..... Tracy, phone!" and we all freaked out.
Or the time we were playing with Cath on the tramp (she was little) and we were throwing her in the blanket while bouncing and accidentally threw her off the tramp. Oops......
Or the time you did my hair for first grade pictures because mom was out of town and I looked TERRIBLE! You were only in 3rd grade..... were you really qualified to do MY hair??
Wow, I have lots of memories of you. I could keep going. I'll just end with this last one-And now batting for the Rockford Peaces- Marla Hooch! (Our Field of Dreams video.... I loved that! We need to watch that again soon).
Love ya!
PER-UHL! Happy Birthday to my favorite Prez!
As for a memory...hmmm...so many to choose from. I'm thinking about good ol' Logan, favorite manager Tom, summer softball, and nights so freakin hot we almost melted. And Zoolander...can't forget Zoolander. Try not to get in any freak gasoline fight accidents, okay? :)
Happy Birthday Amanda! I saw it on Kristens blog. Hope it was a good one!
Until I read your and Carrie's memories, I thought I had basically very kind, sweet, obedient daughters. You really burst my balloon. I just can't believe the fire memories! I must have been a terrible mother!
One of my funniest memories of you, Amanda was when you called Karla "Poopy-Loopy". I knew I should scold you more but it was really funny. And when you all did the Dolly Parton skit. Do we have a video of that?
I really hope you have reformed and are a fit mother to be raising Carter. Just remember--I'll be watching you closely now.
