Now I wish that number were my weight, but it's not. It's Carter's growth chart percentile. For his 6 month checkup his stats were:
23 lbs. 4 oz.
30 inches long
and a big head
Carter hasn't been on the charts for weight and height since he was 2 weeks old but his head has always been relatively normal-75th percentile. Until this last visit-it was also off the charts. Which would explain why his beanie no longer fastens under his chin. The doctor told me he is the size of a normal 1 year old.
Maybe this is why my back hurts constantly-carrying around 23 lbs of cuteness but cuteness that can't fully support his own weight. Like a sack of potatoes. It's getting to the point where I think I may have to see a chiropractor and I don't even believe in Chiropractors......
But the good news is that he's healthy and the Dr. says keep doing whatever it is that I'm doing. This is Carter's new smile. We call it "The Old Man Smile." He looks like such a cute, old man when he does this. I love it....I think he's hiding his incoming tooth from the pictures until it's fully in place. Did I mention that this tooth growing baby loves to bite his mother? OUCH-he may been weaned sooner than planned!!

Wow, we sure grow 'em big, don't we? I don't know how we do it, but we do. You would think the two of us were obese or something to be raising enormous children. Just for comparison sake, since I'm sure you are wondering, Carter weighs more than Chloe and Mitch at 6 months (Mitch was 21 lbs 13 oz and Chloe was 20 lbs 6 oz) but he is also taller than both of them were (Mitch- 28 in, Chloe- 28 1/2)- 2 whole inches is a lot! He weighed more but is way taller. I can't believe how tall he is! Mitch was 30 inches at one year! Carter is just going to be one tall little boy and his weight is according to his height (or trying to keep up), for sure!
You can definitely blame your back problems on your big baby- (I blame every problem I have on my kids). It sure does help when they start supporting their own body weight, but big babies still are big babies and hauling them around is a job in and of itself.
Sorry to hear he is biting you. Sounds like all he needs is just a "good solid spanking." Oh wait- isn't that what you say? jk. Usually a few firm words and pulling him off as soon as he bites helps. The pic of him with his "old man smile" is darling- he is so stinking cute, I love it. I miss him lots!
Your tree and Christmas decorations are way cute, by the way. I hate you.
Holy Cow Carrie-
I keet telling myself that it's okay because Mitch and Chloe were bigger than Carter so he's normal.....but now I find out he's way bigger than
them. Maybe he'll be in Guiness Book of World Records some day. And thanks for hating me...I'm sure your decorations are way cuter
hey we have twinner trees! Mine is the same color scheme. Also, maybe he wouldn't look like such an old man if he wasn't dressed in lumberjack plaid. Good thing he's so cute!
ps, don't be jealous, I do weigh that.
Oh he is so cute even if he does look older than he is! Don't fret though...it could be worse! My bro has a boy with a 90% head on a 20% body! And my older sis tells me that the bigger thier head is as a baby the higher thier I.Q. is. Camdens head has never been higher than 10% and she tells me this all the time...do you think she's trying to tell me something?
Dang, Amanda! You put steroids in that baby food? jk He's so cute!
Don't we all wish we weighted 110? But we can't all be blessed with chiseled abs and stunning features. :)
