My baby is almost 2. And he really isn't a baby anymore. Still has those baby cheeks though!
Carter at 22 months loves:

His daddy. They are best friends. Carter and his daddy love to play in the field and go exploring. If I get Carter out of bed in the morning he immediately says "go get daddy." So daddy never gets to sleep in anymore because once Carter is up, Daddy needs to be as well. Mommy just doesn't cut it anymore:)

Second to Daddy is Carter's love of milk. I personally think Soy milk tastes a lot like wet cardboard but Carter loves it. He would drink a gallon a day if I let him. Even when his "milkies" are gone, he carries around his sippy cup to remember it by. I finally found a TV show that will keep his attention for more than 2 minutes. Super Why! He will now sit on the couch for up to 20 minutes and watch this show. So now I can go the bathroom in peace without being reminded to wipe and flush.

Still Loves Swimming. Don't mention swimming unless you plan to take him that instant. This night we told him we would go swimming and he ran and took his pants off and brought me not 1, but 2 swim diapers. Then he brought me his swim suit. After we swim he talks about it for days and recounts the highlights of the swim.....jumping to daddy, jumping to mommy, and of course, water basketball. And he always mentions that he gets to be "nakies" when he swims. (just from the waist up!)

He loves my headband. His new word is CUTE and he uses it so wonderfully. He is always telling me how cute I am and how cute he is. Even while I was putting on my underwear one day he told how cute "my pants" were. Like I said, I have no privacy anymore.
Carter's speech amazes us everyday. He is now talking in 4 or 5 word sentences and uses such abstract words. Today as the garbage truck was pulling up, I told him to run to the window to see it. He ran to the wrong window and missed it. He came back to me and announced "I didn't see it Mommy." I have no idea where he learned that but he used it perfectly. He gets us all giggling with the things he says like "oh my gosh" (oops-that's from me) and he will even sing "Pants on the Ground." Neil is convinced he is a genius and I am just glad that he isn't behind on his speech like he was in his walking! I don't need more worries.
Carter's Dislikes Include:
The Vacuum! He is fascinated by it but scared at the same time. He can now tolerate being in the same room with it, as long as he has the couch as a buffer. Doesn't his face just show the concern and worry? He's smart about it though and never lets the vacuum out of his sight while it is in use.
He also dislikes having his hair fixed and his mouth or nose wiped. If it were up to Carter he would look homeless.
He keeps me so busy during the day but I love being his mom and spending every day with him.

Ivy is the same with the vacuum... you would think they'd see it often enough to realize that it's not THAT scary, but apparently not. We also LOVE Super Why. I love that Carter's word is 'cute'... I bet all of the little girls in our play group would love to have Carter use it on them. :) And way to go with his full and correct sentences! A genius and an athlete, that's awesome. :)
He is such a stud! I love the headband... it's "cute". Hahaha, that's so awesome! We're looking forward to hanging out with you guys! Keep up the good work and the talking little man, he's brilliant!
