Kindergarten

Carter finally started Kindergarten On August 29, 2013.  He was so excited and very serious about the matter.  Grandma got him a great mountain bike backpack and dad got him a Ninja Turtle Watch, so he was set.  The only bad part of the deal is that he's not allowed to wear flip flops to school.  He is definitely my son and prefers wearing flip flops!

First day of school picture in his new clothes.

Jackson was feeling really left out so he jumped in the picture quickly.

We were lucky to have Neil join us and Carter was thrilled to see have him there.  Carter was very quiet and I could tell he was a little nervous although he wouldn't admit it.

Walking to the school.  He was very anxious to get to his class and I'd read the paper wrong and we showed up 10 minutes too early so we had to kill some time.  He was not happy to wait.

He finally got to go into his classroom with all his classmates.  I didn't want to intrude so much so I didn't go in and take a million pictures.  I'm pretty sure he's a whole head taller than anyone in his class!

Carter gets to ride the bus to and from school but I made him ride to school with me on the first day.  He was thrilled to be able to ride the bus home and I made sure to meet him at the bus stop so I could snap some pictures.

Second Day of School:

On the way to Kindergarten the bus comes all the way into the neighborhood and picks him up right in front of the house.  It is so nice to just send him outside and not worry about getting him to the stop at the right time.
Both boys are so excited to watch for the bus each afternoon.  Jackson cannot finish his lunch if he knows its time for the bus to come.  He's slightly afraid of the bus when it gets close and jumps out of his skin when the driver puts the loud brakes on every day!

This is Jackson the first time the bus came to get Carter and when he realized he wouldn't be riding the bus with him.  He had a good cry about it.  Luckily he adapted quickly and is content to just see Carter off.

Carter has had a blast at kindergarten and goes with 3 other little boys in the neighborhood.  He loves his teacher and loves all the activities they do.  I hope his excitement doesn't wear off until college!

He is such a cute kindergartener! And I love how excited Jax is about all of it. Hooray for school, though. Enjoy the break and look forward to next year of all day school when your day isn't so choppy and broken up.
